With the Gigaset SL910, we aimed to design a cordless telephone that offers the customer an excellent user experience. The focus of our attention was to combine intuitive smartphone handling with the excellent speech quality of a Gigaset phone.
Following a number of in-depth workshops with Gigaset, we defined the concept, basic functions and user paradigms for the SL910. During an iterative process, we analysed and progressed interim results with the help of interactive prototypes.
“How do we make sure that great ideas actually reach the end user, and don’t get stuck in the technical implementation process?”
To ensure an efficient workflow between design and programming, we developed a documentation method to suit the requirements of individual development partners. The resulting Online Pattern Library features a structure that resembles the implementation of the handset design. As a result, initial ideas and thoughts from the concept stage actually stayed in the implementation process, reaching the final product.
Working with Gigaset we have not only created an excellent telephone that is a joy to use, it also marks a milestone in DECT telephone development.
