When comunicating with clients and people Apple is always big a reference that one gets to mention when it comes to consistent design and storytelling. It seems a bit like people are getting tired to hear about that. Well now you’ve got another reference in your toolbox: Obama. According to adage.com he has been nominated as Marketer of the year 2008.
“To see what he’s done, to be able to create a social network and do it in a way where it’s created the tools to let people get engaged very easily. It’s very easy for people to participate.”
- Angus Macaulay (VP-Rodale marketing solutions)
To me the campaign should not be reduced to marketing. It shows the potential of the web and the new networked society. I think every polititian, company and individual brand can learn a lot from the Obama approach. How to engage people. How to start a real discussions and communication with all kinds of people.
But Steve Jobs doesn’t have to be worried. Apple is still in the race.
“Year in and year out, Apple delivers great innovation, customer service and user experience. It has amazing consistency.”
- Jim Stengel (Outgoing Global Marketing Officer Procter & Gamble Co)
