Selection > Unified user experience for B/S/H/
BSH Bosch Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH continues to work with Intuity to develop user interfaces across the Bosch product range with the aim of increasing usability and conveying a positive brand image. Moreover, our simulation processes help to save time and money during prototype development.
- Task
- BSH Bosch Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH has been working with Intuity for a number of years to create visually consistent product interfaces. From washing machines and dishwashers to ovens, fridges, toasters and coffeemakers, the aim is to design user interfaces that improve brand recognition and increase usability.
- Solution
- Regular workshops and meetings with experts from the design, marketing and technology departments at BSH have given us crucial insights into the functions and requirements of Bosch's home appliances. In addition to ergonomic and easy-to-use controls, displays and symbols, we developed sound-design studies for audio signals. Using Interactive Rapid Prototyping we were able to design animated models during initial stages of prototype development and programme operating procedures. This allowed us to examine the virtual products in simulated tests and optimise the product by gradually shifting parameters. A further benefit of such comprehensive tests with digital products is that they save time and money in the development process.
- Result
- It will soon be possible to apply Intuity's standardized operating concepts to all Bosch home appliances. Their simple and intuitive handling adds to the user experience, while the consistent graphic appearance helps the user to bond emotionally with the Bosch brand. A high level of brand recognition strengthens perception of core values like quality, reliability and innovation.
