Plasma Projection

Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Burton Inc. are working on projecton of 3D images by using the laser plasma technology.

The laser was developed by Hamamatsu Photonics K.K., which unleash 100-billion-watt pulses of light – every 10-trillionths of a second (100 femtoseconds). This technology enabels a smoothness image projection and a resolution to 1,000 pixels per second. The image brightness and contrast can be controlled by regulating the number of pulses fired at each point in space.
