The use of additive-manufactured biological tissue opens up completely new possibilities for laboratories. Animal testing could be replaced and laboratory tests could become much more efficient. The synthesis of innovative cell culture, biochemistry, CAD software, cloud technologies and 3D process engineering makes it possible to produce viable mini organs from human cells. The system has the potential to fundamentally change today’s laboratory work and Cellbricks could thus redefine the future standard for transplantable organ production.
Developed by Intuity and Cellbricks, the collaborative “Organ as a Service” project is a bioprinting ecosystem that consists of a bioprinter and cloud applications. It offers researchers access to the latest bioprinting via an intuitive digital platform and is a catalyst for bioprinting research on the German market. We are proud of the German Innovation Award and want to thank everyone who shares our vision of printed biology.
