Internship at Intuity: Josh & Kai-Magnus

Hello, we are Josh and Kai Magnus and are, currently working as interns at Intuity.

We started working here this September and now, halfway through, we want to share our experiences and impressions. If you are looking for an internship yourself, we would like to give you an idea of the philosophy behind Intuity and what it’s like to work here.

Josh

Hey I’m Josh. I am a student at the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd where I attend the course “IoT- design of Connected Systems”. In today’s age, in the age of industry 4.0, IoT, etc., there are no limits for us as designers. In my opinion, the profession of designer has rarely been more relevant than it is today. The number of technical “smart” devices in our environment is increasing exponentially. While good design used to be unaffordable for many, today everyone has it in their own pocket. With the rise of networked devices and digital products, the influence of the designer has also increased. It is important to maintain a critical view in order to develop products and systems that are not only economically viable, but also of relevance and usefulness for people. Intuity for me reflects the perfect balance of economically viable as well as relevant, sustainable and far-sighted design.

Kai Magnus

Hi, Kai Magnus here. I am a student of Interaction Design at the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd with an interest in service and application design. I was assigned to support my team working on a web-based service platform. A constant stream of new tasks flows in from our customer which we work on as a team, making it a necessity to be in close contact with both our customer and developers. This has given me the opportunity to get a very detailed view of real world project development from rough drafts to design iterations and finally implementation. Apart from attending routine meetings, I have the chance to attend kickoff meetings as well as various trips to trade fairs. I got to meet our colleagues from the other companies (countries even) working on this project during a sprint review and experience the developer side of our projects first hand. These are some of the experiences I have had while working at Intuity, which I believe, are going to be very valuable in the future.

At Intuity a variety of projects are all happening at the same time here, so there is always something new to learn outside of our current teams and interests. We want to thank our colleagues and friends for the great time we’re having here. Everyone has been very supportive and friendly. We really enjoy our internships here at Intuity and we look forward to an exciting second half.
