Don't run a company without an AI strategy!

The technical development of AI systems has made rapid progress and signalled the beginning of a new era. Since the introduction of LLMs and other AI systems, we have gotten a small taste of how our everyday lives and workplaces will change. The question is: Do we simply let the changes happen to us, or do we shape them in a strategic way?

According to a 2024 YouGov survey, less than 15% of German companies have an AI strategy, and even fewer are in the process of implementing one.

We ask ourselves: What are the others waiting for? Can we seriously afford to do nothing?

Germany, the third-largest economy in the world, ranks seventh in the EU behind Malta when it comes to AI use. Various sources cite “regulatory uncertainty” as the main reason for holding off. But beware: the regulator will not tell you how to use AI for your business success.

The EU AI Act has been in place since 2024 and will come into force in Europe this year as AI legislation. It ensures that AI applications used in the EU are safe, transparent, traceable, non-discriminatory and environmentally friendly.

The AI Act follows a so-called risk-based approach and categorizes AI systems into different risk levels: Unacceptable, High, and Low Risk. In order to categorize AI systems into one of these three groups, the Committee of Artificial Intelligence of the Council of Europe has developed the Huderia Framework. With this approach you can review and assess the risks of AI systems in terms of human rights, democracy and legislation.

The regulatory framework that everyone is supposedly waiting for is already in place.

But, the goal now should not be to develop “low-risk” applications to avoid regulation. We see the most significant potential for genuine innovation and tangible value in the high-risk space. This is where exciting topics such as HR, healthcare, or digital twins for infrastructure and energy sit.

The challenge now is to uncover and explore new, meaningful applications of AI to develop your own perspective on its potential for your business. With our hands-on approach and explorative strategy development, we lay the foundation for the strategy and use of AI for value creation in your company.

„By incorporating the criteria from Huderia directly into our design process, we create certainty regarding the evaluation by the EU and AI applications that offer a highly positive effect for everyone who comes into contact with the system.”

We do not see the AI Act’s criteria as restrictions but rather as welcome guidelines and an opportunity to discover exciting applications for AI systems with you!
