German Design Award 2026 for TREEO Cooling
From data points to life stories
Carbon offsetting suffers from a lack of transparency, unreliable data, and limited benefits for local communities. TREEO Cooling counters this with a digital ecosystem: every tree is recorded via app, geo-tagged, and measured annually. Through the TREEO Cloud, measurement data flows together with satellite imagery, biodiversity indicators, and social benefits into the TREEO Impact Storyboard.
The Storyboard goes far beyond a conventional dashboard. It tells the stories behind the data: of the people on the ground, their experiences with the projects, and the measurable outcomes for climate and community – captured in images, videos, and personal accounts. At the same time, it breaks down complex scientific calculations and uses interactive charts to make visible how much CO₂ is actually being removed, what biodiversity contributions the projects deliver, and which social co-benefits emerge. The result is genuine credibility, social impact, and sustainable climate action – traceable down to the individual tree.
