Finally car2go in Stuttgart! The carsharing service by Daimler officially arrived its hometown today after Ulm, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Berlin, Köln and twelve more cities worldwide – with Germany’s biggest fleet of electric cars. As of today, 300 e-smarts are spread throughout the city and ready to go.
Also for Intuity this is great news and an exciting day. As you might know, since more than three years now we’ve been working together with Daimler on new mobility concepts, of which one just recently launched earlier this year in July: moovel – a clever service, that brings together various modes of transport and routes in one place: Public transport, taxis, ride-sharing and carsharing – like car2go. Intuity helped Daimler Business Innovation shaping a great user experience for moovel and building a service towards the vision of true intermodal transport and mobility.
So if you are in Berlin or Stuttgart, you can now find and reserve car2gos with the moovel app. Here’s an example: Let’s say, you need to get from Stuttgart main station to our office at the Feuersee – moovel then shows you for instance the next S-Bahn connection and the nearest available car2go side by side with duration and price. You can now compare and either buy the matching public transport ticket or reserve the car2go, both from right inside of the app.
If you haven’t tried it yet – here’s the download link for the App.
The car2go launch was accompanied by a press conference this morning, with Minister-President Winfried Kretschmann and Daimler Chairman Dieter Zetsche attending.
